Rahul Gandhi in London: Addressing the Indian diaspora in London on Sunday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi denounced the Center saying the Modi government will not allow any idea of opposition to be discussed. Among other things, he discussed a range of issues such as the economy of India, the significance of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, how the opposition is fighting against the centre. Earlier today, while interacting with the Indian Journalists’ Association in the UK, Rahul Gandhi spoke on various issues including India-China relations, BBC raids, Adani Group and others. On the tension between India and China, Rahul Gandhi issued a statement saying Indian Foreign Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar does not understand the “Chinese threat” while Prime Minister Modi is in denial mode that no one has entered our territory.
- Strange that an Indian political leader can lecture in Cambridge, Harvard, but not in an Indian university. The government does not allow any idea of opposition to be discussed. It’s not India we’re all used to.
- One or two businessmen control almost every company. He has become famous lately, you can see reports about his wealth.
- It is at the expense of the Indian people. One person makes all the money because of his political connections, Rahul Gandhi said while addressing the Indian diaspora.
- On the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul said throughout the yatra, my role was to make everyone who marched next to us feel at home. We didn’t want a political relationship with them, we built an emotional bond with everyone.
- If there is no competition in the country and one person earns all the money because of his political connections, the strength and energy of the country is lost.
Speaking about recent BBC raids in India while interacting with the Indian Journalists’ Association, Rahul Gandhi called it voice suppression saying that in Prime Minister Modi’s new India he wants everyone to be silent.
