Britney Spears has sold her 2008-built home in Calabasas, California, The Post has confirmed — though the $10.1 million off-market deal ended in a loss for the “Stronger” singer.
Spears, who has long been famous for her pop music hits, spent a total of 13 years in relative silence during her publicly criticized conservatory. But recent years have seen the now 41-year-old resurface amid the “Free Britney” movement — and the end of 2021 saw her conservatory terminated.
Quieter, however, was the activity in this six-bedroom mansion. Spears and her husband, Sam Asghari, bought the spread for $11.8 million by mid-2022, according to TMZ. Soon after, they listed it off-market for $12 million.
Broken down, this means the March 1 sale left the couple with a loss of about $1.7 million, and about $1.9 million less than what they set out to raise.
The new owner is reportedly a Texas personal injury attorney. The sale comes at a time of falling home prices, according to the latest data, as mortgage rates rose again in an effort to counter flagging inflation.
The house, which Spears and Asghari bought around the time they got married, is near the home of her ex-husband Kevin Federline and the two sons they share.
Spears reportedly found this home in Calabasas too open for her liking and now lives in her other home in Thousand Oaks, a town about 14 minutes away along Highway 101.
Bryce Pennel, of Compass, was the broker for the Calabasas property.
The home’s features include 11,649 square feet of living space on a 4-acre lot. It has a 10-seat cinema, a wine cellar, a wood-panelled office, a master bedroom with a fireplace and – outside – a 17-meter swimming pool with a built-in water slide.
Elsewhere on the property there is a one bedroom guest house with its own kitchen.
