Biden’s migrant mess costing New York City $5 million a day
Almost five. Million. Dollars. Per day.
That obscene figure is how much some 30,000 illegal immigrants cost New York City, according to Zach Iscol, Mayor Adams’ disaster management chief.
The final two-year tab is expected to exceed $4 billion. By mid-February, it had already reached $500 million.
And there’s every reason to think they’ll keep coming.
The city has plenty of other places to spend $4.6 million a day: after all, that’s $1.7 billion a year. At some point, it will have to reconsider its promises about “welcoming migrants”.
Shouldn’t those outraged by the reduced opening hours of the Brooklyn public library ask questions about accommodating migrants in luxury hotels?
Sure, Gotham simply can’t handle this fiscal burden without major federal aid. But Team Biden has only sent a measly $8 million so far.
What is outrageous: it is President Biden who created this crisis. From day one of his administration (before, actually!), he worked to demolish border security through “swung ’em in” policies and implicit promises of eventual de facto citizenship.
Now we see the fruits. And what is Biden’s response?
Nothing. He jokes about a “comprehensive immigration reform plan” that would “solve” the problem by effectively legalizing border crossings.

But he does nothing substantive about enforcement and offers less than crumbs to help the cities, the influx is overwhelming.
What’s the plan here? To hope that somehow things will work themselves out? To wait until after his alleged re-election before coming over?
Or will he just stab the Big Apple with a hefty bill? Do you think the Democratic city will just vote for him anyway? How cynical.
Biden’s indifference here is no less irritating just because it’s so typical of him.
But the enormous human cost he imposes on this front makes it more than sickening.
